Meaningshṛṣyati hṛṣyate v (hárṣate, hṛṣyati, hṛṣyate (hárṣati), PPP hṛṣṭa & hṛṣitá (q.v.) be excited (with pleasure or fear), be delighted or amazed; bristle, stand on end (the hair). Caus. harṣáyati, harṣáyate cause (the hair) to bristle or stand erect; excite, make impatient, rejoice (trans. & intrans.). Int (jarhṛṣanta & járhṛṣāṇa) be very impatient or much excited.
