Desiderative (Des)

Des of a √ generally expresses:

Wishing to do √	(1)
Being about ∨ intending to do √	(2)

The employment of Des is optional and may be paraphrased (unlike C).	(3)
Des sometimes take on Fut meanings	(4)

Examples:

Cikīrṣati = Kartum icchati. (1 & 3)

‘He wishes to do.’

Phalam pipatiṣati. (2)

‘The fruit is about to fall.’

Rājānam prayiyāsantam. (4)

‘A king about to depart.’

Prāṇaḥ uccikramiṣan. (4)

‘The breath on the point of expiring.’
