Appears to be a weakened form of √ sādh. Grassmann, however, considers √ 1 sidh and √ 2 sidh as one root, and there are in fact some difficulties in their separation.
Meaningssídhyati (sídhyate) 2 v PPP siddha (q.v.) reach an aim, hit the mark; succeed, be fulfilled or accomplished; result, follow, be valid, boot, avail; submit to, obey (G); reach the highest aim, become perfect or blessed.
