The so-called causative is, of course, a denominative, apparently of a Part. prīṇa, not occurring independently.
Meaningsprīṇā́ti prīṇīté prīyate 1 v (ti), PPP prītá (q.v.) P please gladden, rejoice, propitiate; also = Ā be glad or cheerful, delight in, be content or pleased with, be fond of (G, I, L, or Ab). Caus. prīṇayati = S.A ; Des príprīṣati wish to please or propitiate.
