Meaningsjī́vati v (jī́vate), PPP jīvita (q.v.) live, revive (~ punar), subsist on (I). Imper. jīva (~ ciram) may you live (long)! Caus. jīvayati (te) make or keep alive, nourish, bring up; wish a pers. to live (by calling jīva). Des jijīviṣati (te) or jújyūṣati wish to live, seek a livelihood by (I).
