yájati yájate v PPP iṣṭá 1 (q.v.) worship, esp. with sacrifices or oblations, consecrate, hallow, offer, sacrifice (P mostly on account of another, Ā on one's own account or by the help of another). Caus. yājayati te sacrifice (as priest) for (A) with (I), cause a person. (A) to sacrifice with (A or I) by means of a priest (I). Des yiyakṣati, te wish to sacrifice.
